Here’s the schedule for what we have planned:
February 21, 2-4pm– Figure Drawing: Figure drawing outside the box! This collaborative, performative and participatory event is offered as a counterpoint to traditional figure drawing courses.
February 28, 4-6pm – UMass Arts Council Mini Grant Workshop: Have a collaborative project that needs help getting off the ground? Or, questions about funding for artists in general? Participate in a low pressure workshop to discuss techniques for receiving Mini Grant Funding from the UMass Arts Council.
March 28, 1-4pm – Monotype: Print by hand! This workshop introduces and explores the process of creating unique prints through gelatin plate monotype printmaking, a low cost technique that participants can recreate after the workshop.
April 2, 5-8pm – Open Studio Night: See what we’re up to! Undergrads and grads alike are opening their studios.
April 4, 11am-4pm – Moldmaking: Make multiples! This introduction to basic moldmaking techniques will explore materials and the act of reproducing three dimensional objects.
April 12, 4-6pm – Bookmaking: Fold, sew, write and draw! This workshop explores the production of artist books through demonstrations and hands on work. Participants will leave with their own book.
April 25, 4-6pm – Funding Options for Emerging Artists: Get funded! A survey of available grants for groups and individual artists from a variety of sources: local, regional, and national. Innovative alternatives will be explored.
